  Born in Berlin in 1960, trained telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions fit­ter, stud­ied the­ol­o­gy in Greif­swald and Halle / Saale and has been pas­tor in Lunow since 1990. He is hon­orary chair­man of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Friends of the Ger­man-Pol­ish Euro­pean Nation­al Park Low­er Oder Valley.

• Gün­ter Blutke
  Born in Son­nen­burg / Neu­mark (Slon­sk) in 1934, trained jour­nal­ist, pho­tog­ra­ph­er and doc­tor­ate in art. Pro­fes­sion­al­ly, he worked pri­mar­i­ly for illus­trat­ed mag­a­zines as a jour­nal­ist and pho­tog­ra­ph­er, includ­ing for the “Neue Berlin­er Illus­tri­erte” (NBI) as head of the cul­ture depart­ment and lat­er as deputy edi­tor-in-chief until 1988. On a vol­un­tary basis, he has ded­i­cat­ed him­self above all to nature con­ser­va­tion and nature obser­va­tion. He has been work­ing in the Low­er Oder Val­ley since 1991. His pho­to exhi­bi­tions about the nation­al park were shown in Schwedt, Pots­dam and Berlin. He is the author of sev­er­al non-fic­tion books and illus­trat­ed books. Gün­ter Blutke passed away in 2016.

• Bern­hard Grimm
  Born in Elabrunn in 1952, agri­cul­tur­al machin­ery and trac­tor fit­ter, plant oper­a­tor in Schwedt since 1969. From 1991–1993 nature guard in the Low­er Oder Val­ley Nation­al Park, then employ­ee of the Nation­al Park admin­is­tra­tion. In 1993, togeth­er with Dr. Hans-Jörg Wilke pub­lished the first illus­trat­ed book on the Low­er Oder Val­ley. Worked as a film assis­tant for the film team Dieter Hoese and Heinz Siel­mann. He suc­cumbed to a long and seri­ous ill­ness on Decem­ber 15th, 2004.

  Born 1950 in Lezno (Poland), stud­ied vet­eri­nary med­i­cine, doc­tor­ate at the Agri­cul­tur­al Acad­e­my Wro­claw (Bres­lau), until 1990 vet­eri­nar­i­an, lab­o­ra­to­ry man­ag­er for vet­eri­nary diag­nos­tics, then dis­trict admin­is­tra­tor in Gryfi­no (Greifen­hagen) and as such co-ini­tia­tor of the inter­na­tion­al park Unteres Oder­tal. Since 1994 direc­tor of the Pol­ish land­scape pro­tec­tion parks Dolina Dol­nej Odry (Low­er Oder Val­ley) and Cedyn­s­ki (Zehden).

• Wern­er Sterwerf
  Born in 1952 in Bünde, Her­ford dis­trict, tech­ni­cal man­ag­er of an inter­na­tion­al elec­tron­ics com­pa­ny, has been a rec­og­nized ani­mal and nature pho­tog­ra­ph­er for 30 years, whose pho­tos can be found in many pub­li­ca­tions. He reg­u­lar­ly pub­lish­es arti­cles in Ger­man-lan­guage spe­cial­ist literature.

• Wolf­gang Stürzbecher
  Born in 1962, mar­ried, two chil­dren, ani­mal pho­tog­ra­ph­er and grad­u­ate. Social pedagogue.
  Works as a youth pro­ba­tion offi­cer in the Berlin dis­trict of Wed­ding and pub­lish­es ani­mal pho­tos and ani­mal trav­el reports on wild ani­mals around the world, in news­pa­pers and mag­a­zines. He is always drawn to our nation­al park with his cam­era with its breath­tak­ing biodiversity.
• Ans­gar Vössing
  Born in Berlin in 1957, stud­ied biol­o­gy, the­ol­o­gy and phi­los­o­phy in Berlin and Mün­ster, did his doc­tor­ate on the social learn­ing of pri­mates in the zoo. Worked as a lec­tur­er at the Free Uni­ver­si­ty of Berlin, as a teacher and jour­nal­ist. In 1988 he became speech­writer for the Gov­ern­ing May­or of Berlin, worked from 1988–1991 in the sci­en­tif­ic advi­so­ry ser­vice for the par­lia­men­tary groups in the Berlin House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives. From 1991–1993 he worked for the Bran­den­burg Min­istry of the Envi­ron­ment, pri­mar­i­ly as the con­struc­tion man­ag­er of the Low­er Oder Val­ley Nation­al Park Admin­is­tra­tion. In 1993 he returned to the Berlin Sen­ate Chan­cellery as head of the depart­ment for polit­i­cal plan­ning and pol­i­cy mat­ters. He is hon­orary vice chair­man of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Friends of the Ger­man-Pol­ish Euro­pean Nation­al Park and board mem­ber of the Low­er Oder Val­ley Nation­al Park Foundation.

• Hans-Jörg Wilke
  Born in 1959 in Wol­gast, 1984–1991 biol­o­gy teacher at var­i­ous Schwedt schools, then employed in the devel­op­ment staff of the nation­al park and in the nation­al park admin­is­tra­tion to this day. Togeth­er with Bern­hard Grimm, he pub­lished the first illus­trat­ed book about the nation­al park in 1993. Wilke dealt with the his­to­ry of the Oder land­scape for many years. As a result of his con­ver­sa­tions with con­tem­po­rary wit­ness­es, four his­tor­i­cal pho­to books were cre­at­ed under the title “Archive Pic­tures” on every­day life on the Oder and Haff. Since 2006 Wilke has devot­ed him­self to the his­to­ry of ani­mal illus­tra­tion and in 2016 was able to suc­cess­ful­ly com­plete his doc­tor­ate at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Jena on the sub­ject of “Ani­mal illus­tra­tion in the pop­u­lar sci­en­tif­ic lit­er­a­ture of the Ger­man-speak­ing area 1850–1950”.
