SUMMARY:Excursion: Getting to know old varieties of orchards and various dry grass plants in the Criewen Park Garden
DESCRIPTION:Today\, orchards are not only a tra­di­tion­al form of fruit grow­ing\, but the areas also serve as grass­land\, for exam­ple for mow­ing or exten­sive graz­ing. Prof. Dr. Gis­bert Schalitz (Mar­tin Luther Uni­ver­si­ty Halle) leads this excur­sion on the top­ic of orchards and veg­e­ta­tion on dry grass­land. As a grass­land sci­en­tist\, for­est and orchard grow­er\, Prof. Schalitz is an expert in this field and con­veys inter­est­ing facts about old fruit vari­eties\, but also inter­est­ing facts about var­i­ous dry grass­land plants in a gen­er­al­ly under­stand­able form.
