The Inter­na­tion­al­park Low­er Oder Val­ley GmbH was found­ed in 1997 as a whol­ly owned sub­sidiary of Nation­al Park Foun­da­tion Low­er Oder Val­ley found­ed. Your tasks are par­tic­u­lar­ly in envi­ron­men­tal edu­ca­tion, espe­cial­ly in the Wilder­ness School and in the Nation­al Park Lab­o­ra­to­ry Teero­fen­brücke and in the Bran­den­burg Acad­e­my Schloss Criewen — Ger­man-Pol­ish envi­ron­men­tal edu­ca­tion and meet­ing center.

Brandenburg Academy

The Bran­den­burg Acad­e­my Schloss Criewen offers an exten­sive con­fer­ence and con­gress pro­gram on all ques­tions relat­ing to rur­al areas. In addi­tion to numer­ous in-house events, the von Arn­im family’s 200-year-old manor house also offers a suit­able set­ting for exter­nal events of all kinds, locat­ed in a beau­ti­ful­ly restored park by Peter Joseph Lenné, right next to the nation­al park, not far from the Schwedt bor­der cross­ing and with an hourly bus con­nec­tion to the train sta­tions Schwedt and Anger­münde (RE3).

Wilderness School Teerofenbrücke

The Teero­fen­brücke Nation­al Park Lab­o­ra­to­ry and Wilder­ness School offer, espe­cial­ly school­child­ren, from ele­men­tary school to advanced cours­es in upper lev­els, sus­tain­able nature expe­ri­ences and high-qual­i­ty envi­ron­men­tal edu­ca­tion. There are also children’s hol­i­day camps, and on the week­ends fam­i­lies and nature con­ser­va­tion enthu­si­asts have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to rent the rus­tic log cab­ins, locat­ed in the heart of the nation­al park, sur­round­ed by wilder­ness areas. The focus is on enjoy­ing nature and the cor­re­spond­ing knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence. The cur­rent pro­grams can be found on the homepage.

The Wilder­ness School and Bran­den­burg Acad­e­my are also depen­dent on vol­un­teer work and finan­cial sup­port. Any­one who would like to help the com­pa­ny is welcome.

Born in Berlin in 1957, stud­ied biol­o­gy, the­ol­o­gy and phi­los­o­phy in Berlin and Mün­ster, did his doc­tor­ate on the social learn­ing of pri­mates in the zoo. Worked as a lec­tur­er at the Free Uni­ver­si­ty of Berlin, as a teacher and jour­nal­ist. In 1988 he became speech­writer for the Gov­ern­ing May­or of Berlin, worked from 1988–1991 in the sci­en­tif­ic advi­so­ry ser­vice for the par­lia­men­tary groups in the Berlin House of Representatives.

From 1991–1993 he worked for the Bran­den­burg Min­istry of the Envi­ron­ment, pri­mar­i­ly as the con­struc­tion man­ag­er of the Low­er Oder Val­ley Nation­al Park Admin­is­tra­tion. In 1993 he returned to the Berlin Sen­ate Chan­cellery as head of the depart­ment for polit­i­cal plan­ning and pol­i­cy mat­ters. He is hon­orary vice chair­man of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Friends of the Ger­man-Pol­ish Euro­pean Nation­al Park and board mem­ber of the Low­er Oder Val­ley Nation­al Park Foundation.

Train­ing as a chem­i­cal lab­o­ra­to­ry assis­tant and study­ing process engi­neer­ing with a degree in engi­neer­ing. After sev­er­al years in the min­er­al oil research of a chem­i­cal com­pa­ny, respon­si­ble for con­fer­ence prepa­ra­tion and orga­ni­za­tion at the Bran­den­burg Acad­e­my since 2000. Since 2009 direc­tor of stud­ies at the academy.
