Baby bison born

Also this summer a female baby was born on our wild bison pasture. Thanks to the careful and self-sacrificing care of farmer Norbert Meene, it survived the first, sometimes difficult days of life and is doing well. A visit to the bison pasture these days is doubly worthwhile.

The next bison tour and feeding will take place on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting point is at the main entrance to Criewen Castle. Of course you can also visit the bison on your own, but then they usually don’t come that close to the fence.

Under no circumstances should the bison be fed. This leads to illness and sometimes death. Wisents only eat grass, including leaves, twigs and bark, but no human food, especially not waste. Please show consideration for the health of the animals.

And one more invitation. Anyone who wants to know more about the bison is cordially invited to Conference “Wisents on Wild Pasture — Species Conservation and Ecology” from 27.09.–28.09.2018 in the Brandenburg Academy “Schloss Criewen” . The international bison experts meet here to exchange experiences. The congress will be translated simultaneously into German, Polish and English.

Please register by email to Ms. U. Böhme ().

Welcome!
